Andrews, Gilland, Hiatt, Cronin & Lovegrove are First at Party in the USA

Saturday evening was Party In The USA presented by Duros Dent Works, The Lincoln Stars and ATV Motorsports. 140 teams showed up to compete under mid-90s temperatures on a beautifully prepared track before a large crowd.
There were no significant incidents in the preliminary features.
Trevor Noonan put the 66 out front early in the Coors Light IMCA Sportmod A Feature with Dion Kovar’s 18, the 7V of Adam Vrbka and the 27 of Dane Martindale rounding out the top 4. Shawn Harker’s #40 stopped in the pit entrance road on lap 3 to bring out a caution. Matt Andrews put the 22 into fourth on the restart. The next lap AJ Oaks’ 26 stopped in turns 1 and 2 for another caution. Andrews advanced to third on the restart and moved up to second on lap 6 as Cole Wayman took over the fourth spot. Arie Schouten’s 99RE and the 96 of Gary Saathoff spun out in turns 1 & 2 the next time around and the action slowed again. Wayman advanced to third a lap after the restart. Trevor Baker put the 25! Into fourth after 2 more circuits. Kovar slowed with 6 to go moving Baker to third and Wayman to fourth. Andrews nosed ahead of Noonan at the flag stand with 2 to go and held on for the win. The top 4 were Andrews, Noonan, Baker and Wayman.
The Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock finale was next and saw Rowan Mason lead lap #1 in the 28 with the 00M of Matt Beckner second, Tanner Dowty’s 7T third and Tim LaPointe in the 18 fourth. Nick Beckman’s 22 came to a halt high in turn 2 the next circuit for a caution. Dowty moved to second on the restart as Kyle Schamp put the 2K into fourth. Schamp advanced to third the next lap with Ryan Gilland moving to fourth in his 46. Gilland passed Schamp 2 laps later and Mike Hansen put the 94 into fourth. Gilland took the second spot the next lap. Hansen got to third 3 laps later with Jeff Watts putting the 66 into fourth. Dave Carter’s 2C and the 2B of Brooke Fluckiger got together in turn 1 after Albert Kiihne cut them off going into the corner. All 3 rejoined the race at the rear of the pack. Gilland took the lead with 9 to go and Hansen moved up to second 3 laps later making the final top 4 Gilland, Hansen, Mason, and Watts.
Nate Thompson’s 3T was first back to the flag stand on lap #1 of the Nebraska Lottery IMCA Modified A followed by Aaron Pella in the 3A, Terry Hurt’s 24T and the 19XX of Brandon Spanjer. Spanjer moved up to third the next lap and grabbed second after 2 more circuits. Hurt advanced to third 3 laps later with Shane Hiatt taking the fourth position in the 21H a lap later. Hiatt moved up to third 2 laps later and Spanjer grabbed the lead the next time around. Mike Densberger put the 81 into fourth the next lap as Hiatt moved up to second. Hiatt took over the lead with 8 to go. Jordan Grabouski put the 30 into fourth the next time around and Densberger advanced to second the next lap. Jared Deterding spun the 13J in turns 1 & 2 with 5 laps remaining. From there to the checkers it was a tooth and nail battle to the finish with Hiatt winning, Densberger second, Spanjer third and Grabouski fourth.
Steve Phillips put the 66 in the lead after 1 circuit of the ATV Motorsports IMCA Sport Compact feature with the 6 of Dan Markham second, the 21M of Cullen Gossage third and the 52D of Devin Bruce fourth. Bruce moved to third on lap 2 with Markham grabbing the lead and Brian Cronin’s 35 moving to fourth. Bruce and Cronin both advanced 1 spot the next lap. Tyler Masek grabbed fourth in the 23B the following circuit. Cronin got to second with 9 to go and took over the lead 6 laps later. The finish showed Cronin, Bruce, Markham and Masek the top 4.
The final race of the evening was for the Duros Dent Works Racesaver IMCA Sprints. The first circuit saw Tim Hilfiker lead in the 20 with Doug Lovegrove’s 55, the 12K of Troy Sanford and Nate Weiler in the 4w in hot pursuit. Lovegrove passed Hilfiker on lap 2 but Mike Boston went flipping in turns 3 & 4 with the 51 ending up on its lid and the top wing next to the fence. Boston was not seriously injured. Weiler moved up to third on the restart with Brandon Horton putting the 1B into fourth the next time around. Lovegrove once again passed Hilfiker on lap 4. Weiler advanced to second on lap 7. Shayle Helget put the 03 into fourth the next time around and advanced to third with 9 to go. The chase was on to the checkers but the top 4 remained unchanged. Lovegrove, Weiler, Helget and Hilfiker were the top 4.
Next weekend Great Clips and Colby Ridge present the Junior Fan Club Salute. Kids 12 and under receive free front gate admission. Adults are just $12. Front gates open at 5:00 with hot laps at 5:30 and racing at 6:30. All 5 classes will be competing including the Duros Dent Works Sprint Cars, Nebraska Lottery Modifieds, Coors Light SportMods, Valentino’s Hobby Stocks & ATV Motor Sports Sport Compacts.
Pit gates open at 3:30 with pit passes costing $30.
