Tony Stewart to race at The Ice Breaker Challenge April 21st
NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart has decided to participate in the 2012 Ice Breaker Challenge on April 21st. Since the Sprint Cup cars are racing in Kansas City next weekend, he wants to be part of the ASCS Regional race on Saturday, April 21st. He also hopes to be able to participate in Friday night’s contest, depending on his NASCAR obligations that weekend.
He likes to stay close to his dirt roots, racing sprint cars and midgets when time allows and is a multi-time winner of the coveted Golden Driller at the Chili Bowl. He crossed a big item off of his “Bucket List” when he snagged his first World of Outlaws sprint car win at Oshweken Speedway in Canada last July.
Tony is no stranger to Eagle’s high banks either, having won the 1994 Pepsi USAC Summer Midget Classic at the track.
Down deep he is just another racer, and what better place to show his talents than at “America’s Home Track”?
Front gates open at 6 P.M. on Friday with racing at 8. Adult admission is just $12, youths 6-12 are $5 and children 5 and under are free with an adult admission.
