Cage Rookie class will have 2 Features with 10 or more Karts
It sounds like we will have a lot of new drivers entering the CAGE ROOKIE Class in 2018! For safety reasons we will implement the following for the Rookie class this upcoming season:
If there are 10 or more karts entered in the Rookie Class for a single event, we will split the class evenly into 2 Features. We would end up with a “Rookie Advanced Feature” and a “Rookie Beginner Feature”. The Rookie Advanced Feature will be the karts with the most heat points, and the Rookie Beginner Feature will be the karts with the least amount of heat points (Therefore hopefully the more advanced karts will be in one feature and the less advanced karts will be in the other.) 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place finishers in EACH Feature will receive “placing” trophies. All other Rookies will receive a participation trophy. The Rookie Advance feature winner will receive 40 points with each subsequent position receiving 1 point less. Then the Rookie beginner feature winner will receive 1 point less then the last place finisher of the Rookie Advance Feature with every subsequent position receiving 1 point less. This class is still a beginner (no experience) class. This is a class meant for the new, young karters to learn and grow as drivers. If the karter has experience racing they should be at least in the Cage Amateur class or a more advanced class depending on age and experience.
